wear it & pair it :: the moto jacket

3 Oct

Remember that blog we wrote – “a day at FAME?!” Well, here’s one of our favorite pieces we found while we were there – the Moto Jacket! We told you faux leather would be a trend to keep your eye on for this fall & here’s a perfect example!

NO. 1 – THE MOTO JACKET

The Moto Jacket

WEAR IT WITH: Jeans & Graphic Tee – Destructed jeans give this outfit a casual look, while a black & white graphic tee give it just a bit of edge.

PAIR IT WITH: Flats – We picked leopard print flats to keep the edgy-chic vibe!

NO. 2 – THE MOTO JACKET

The Moto Jacket

WEAR IT WITH: Leggings & Tunic – Make this outfit comfy for fall with unbelievably comfortable Fleece Leggings & the Simply Chic Top in burgundy! This top gives the outfit the perfect pop of autumnal color!

PAIR IT WITH: Lace-Up Boots – The Oxford Boots with this outfit tie in two styles & brought a nice mix between edgy & preppy. Of course – you could always take your outfit to the next level & pair it with biker boots.

NO. 3 – THE MOTO JACKET

The Moto Jacket

WEAR IT WITH: Skirt – We absolutely loved the Night & Day Skirt when it arrived, & we love it even more with the Moto Jacket! The white faux leather & black ponte knit stripes mix perfectly with the contrasting fabrics of the jacket!

PAIR IT WITH: Scarf – This camel colored infinity scarf is the perfect fall color & pulls the whole outfit together amazingly!

How do you feel about the moto trend?! Remember — you can always shop online at www.trendaddictions.com! For a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Trend Addictions, hop on over to our Facebook for details! Winner will be chosen Tuesday, 10.08.13 @ 5pm EST & announced via Facebook.

wear it & pair it :: the intern of style blazer & jeans

26 Sep

We’re doing this {Wear it & Pair it Blog} a bit differently – usually we focus on just one piece of clothing, but this time we will be focusing on an entire outfit & how something as simple as the shirt can change the entire look & feel. And now starts the fun – check out the 3 totally different styles of these outfits!

The Intern of Style Blazer & Jeans- No. 1

the intern of style blazer

WEAR IT WITH: Graphic – A black & white graphic top is a great way to add a little bit of “edge” to a more classic look. We debated about which of our favorite graphic tops to wear & ended up going with our Key to Love Tank, but also check out our Live for Love Tank!

PAIR IT WITH: Flats – Keep it comfy & casual with The Clare Flats!

The Intern of Style Blazer & Jeans- No. 2

the intern of style blazer

WEAR IT WITH: Black V-Neck – The Two Sides to Every Story Top was our first choice for this outfit! The v-neck is super sophisticated & the taupe, chiffon back gives it detail when the blazer comes off.

PAIR IT WITH: Heels – Pair this look with black, pointy-toe heels in order to keep it classy.

The Intern of Style Blazer & Jeans- No. 3

the intern of style blazer

WEAR IT WITH: Chambray – Denim on denim equals a fashion “don’t,” but chambray on denim equals a definite fashion “do.” We absolutely love this trend for the fall season & since it shows no signs of slowing, you better catch up! Remember to roll your sleeves together to give you a more put-together look.

PAIR IT WITH: Tall Boots – If the Parksville Boot doesn’t complete this ensemble, we don’t know what would! This preppy-chic look is a must-have!

Is one of these outfits screaming your name?! Remember — you can always shop online at www.trendaddictions.com [w/ $5 flat rate shipping]! For a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Trend Addictions, hop on over to our Facebook for details! Winner will be chosen Tuesday, 10.01.13 @ 5pm EST & announced via Facebook.

wear it & pair it :: the geometric pencil skirt

12 Sep

Our very first {Wear it & Pair it Blog} was all about a pencil skirt & so here we go again! People hear “skirt” & instantly think “spring, summer, warm weather,” & so on. Well, we’re here to tell you that pencil skirts are doable year-round & here’s the blog to prove it! Check out this great skirt, with lovely fall colors, & the three ways we would “wear it & pair it.”

The Geometric Pencil Skirt – No. 1

WEAR IT WITH: Chiffon – We put our fall-hued, burgundy Simply Chic Top together with the Geometric Pencil Skirt for a more “workweek chic” look. The colors complement each other so well & we absolutely love the square gold buttons on this top!

PAIR IT WITH: Booties – These camel booties pull this outfit together to make it professional, yet still right on trend for the fall season!

The Geometric Pencil Skirt – No. 2

WEAR IT WITH: Fun Knits – We picked our Party in the Back Top for this outfit! It’s a simple black knit top, which is heavy enough for the cooler morning weather, but lightweight enough when the fall afternoons heat up a bit. The best part of this, is the open-back detail which gives your look a little bit of fun!

PAIR IT WITH: Heels – Black heels tie this outfit together & give you a versatile outfit for heading into the office now & out for happy out later.

The Geometric Pencil Skirt – No. 3

WEAR IT WITH: Cardigan – Our Boyfriend Cardigan, in clay, was perfect with this skirt! Its muted fall tone went perfectly with the colors of the skirt, while our white & gold belt gave the outfit the element to reign it all in.

PAIR IT WITH: Tall Boots – We chose the cognac Parksville Boot for this outfit because of the rich fall color. Pencil skirts aren’t just for girls wearing heels – boots are equally as appropriate & super trendy.

Stop into the store to check out these outfits, or create your own, you never know till you try! Or you can always shop online at www.trendaddictions.com! wear it & pair it :: the tribal pencil skirt

15 Aug

Do you ever see something in a store and think “what would I wear that with?” We know you do! We get it all the time here, at Trend Addictions. We have decided to come up with a little weekly post called “Wear it & Pair it” where we will feature 1 single piece and turn it into 3 different outfits. We will show you what to wear it with, and what to pair it with. With that being said, say hello to our first [WEAR IT & PAIR IT] —

Tribal print is a fun way to pep up a pencil skirt — that’s why we chose this fantastic trend for our first Wear It & Pair It blog! Check out these three different outfits, where we teach you what to wear & how to pair with our focal piece — the Tribal Pencil Skirt!

[No. 1 — The Tribal Pencil Skirt with Chambray & Booties]

Wear it & Pair it

WEAR IT WITH: Chambray — Comfortable, chic, & classic — chambray is still a hot trend for the upcoming fall season! When worn with our Tribal Pencil Skirt, it can easily be taken from office-ready to happy hour… Oh, by the way, like the watch?! Check out our WeWOOD watch collection here.

PAIR IT WITH: Ankle Boots — Booties are a popular trend that isn’t fading away — not only is this style of shoe so very comfy, but it’s perfect for fall, & looks great with our Tribal Pencil Skirt as well as your favorite pair of jeans!

[No. 1 — The Tribal Pencil Skirt with a Sweater & Flats]

Wear it & Pair it

WEAR IT WITH: Back in the Saddle Sweater — Faux leather is already big & only has plans to get bigger — the saddle color faux leather shoulders & zipper details add edge.

PAIR IT WITH: Flats — Our Clare Flats in camel were a perfect pair for the Tribal Pencil Skirt & Back in the Saddle Sweater! They tie the outfit together with a classic look while keeping it casual.

[No. 3 — The Tribal Pencil Skirt with an Oversized Sweater & Tall Boots]

Wear it & Pair it

WEAR IT WITH: Oversized Sweater — Looking for a cozy chic wardrobe for this fall? Look no further. When worn with an oversized sweater, our Tribal Pencil Skirt balances it out by lengthening your body. Plus, we added our See It Through Top for a more casual, yet pulled together, look.

PAIR IT WITH: Boots — Start pulling these out of the back of your closet ladies — with the cooler weather approaching, taller boots make skirts like these, much more wearable! PS — We ❤ the red zipper detailing on these!

a day at FAME

8 Aug

We kicked off our week by spending Sunday driving to New York City, which is quite a hike from the little town of Wellsville! After two hours of staring at the toll booths just before the George Washington Bridge, we finally made it over & into the city! We headed out for dinner & drinks at Nobu (if you’ve ever been here, you know walk-in seats are like gold — they’re so busy they opened a sister restaurant next door called…Nobu Next Door, genius). We tried our hand at their vegetable sushi rolls, tempura, skewers, & miso soup (Heather was quite perturbed that she wasn’t given a spoon) — the food was absolutey delicious & if you’ve never been here, we highly recommend it! At the crack of dawn, we hit the “snooze” twenty-three times, we got up & got ready to hit the FAME clothing show! A perk of owning a clothing store is having the opportunity to personally check out the upcoming lines for not just fall, but winter & spring as well — it’s like hitting fast-forward in the fashion industry! Without giving away our style surprises — here’s a sneak peek into fashion trends you should get ready to love!

[1] Faux Leather — From trim, to pockets, to full pieces — faux leather seems to be the perfect accent on the most basic of tops!

[2] Chiffon — Don’t toss this into the back of the closet just yet, ladies — this material is being pulled from spring & summer lines into fall & winter!

[3] Zippers — Zippers on sweaters, sweatshirts, tees, & pants; on the front, the back, the sleeves, & the shoulders — zippers are an edgy detail that will be hard to resist, so zip it up & embrace it!

[4] Body-Con — Such a comfortable & flattering material, & the styles we have in store for you are rocking some appealing patterns! If you think you can’t pull this trend off, we bet you $5 off your purchase that you definitely can! <–Just try it on, & you can hold us to it. 😉

[5] Wine & Teal — Move over coral & mint — wine & teal are this fall’s hot new colors! Best part about these colors?! They’ll accent your spring & summer wardrobe perfectly!

We had a fantastic time at FAME & are so excited about the new things coming to the store! What trends are you most excited about — leave us some comments! 🙂

while we were away…

6 Aug

Well, hey there! We’ve been away for a while, but we’re back! Getting this blogging thing down can be pretty rough, but we think we’ve devised a plan! We have a few fun things to tell you about that happened while we were away –

(1) We turned 5! Yep, we celebrated our 5th year anniversary of being open, on July 9th! We really wanted to show our customers & fellow business owners our appreciation for their support, so of course, we threw a party at the store! A local caterer & good customer of ours, at Chelsea’s Catering & Confections, set us up with some delicious hors’ douvre, while we provided the drinks. Businesses from around town [Hamilton’s, Three Sisters Pottery, Karisma Boutique, etc.] donated items & gift certificates to be raffled off! As a store, we raffled off a 22” Spinner in Plum Crazy, by Vera Bradley (which was won by a man, nonetheless!)

A party is not a party without goodie bags, so we filled them up with products from some of our favorite vendors (kudos to our vendors for the freebies they sent us!) The party was an all-around success & we were so happy to celebrate our 5th year with such amazing people!

(2) This brings us to the Trend Addictions’ Annual Fashion Show!  Every year, our little town hosts The Great Wellsville Balloon Rally, which brings in thousands of people from all around!  The weekend is filled with sidewalk sales featuring local, as well as out-of-town vendors!  For the five years we’ve been open [minus last year, when Megan was nine months pregnant], we’ve been putting on a full-scale fashion show — runway, MC, and all!  This year’s theme was Be{YOU}tiful –we are always encouraging our customers to be beautiful, by simply being themselves.  This fashion show featured ten fabulous models, thirty eye-catching outfits, and one decked-out runway.  Hair was done (wonderfully, might we add) by stylist, Ashley Freeman of Bella Capelli Salon, in Corning, NY.  We loved choosing outfits that would be just right for each model’s style & showing off just how to put together different pieces from the store!  This was, by far, our biggest year yet — check out our video for a glimpse into our fashion show fun! Here are some fun pictures (special thanks to Peter Mangels Photography) to enjoy as well ❤
